Saddle up, put your feet on the pedals and head off down a road to the past.
The Roman cycle route not only connects Passau in Germany with the former Roman provincial capital of Wels and the town of Enns, which is the oldest in Austria, but as its name promises, provides a cycle ride back to the Roman era.
For this reason, the route is not merely marked with normal signposts, but also Roman helmets. During the ride you repeatedly come across archaeological sites with information displays describing life in Roman times.
